Want a  „Touch of Latvia”? It’s in the bag!

What makes Latvia such a sensational place? The way it indulges all your senses. How can you find out? Go out and experience it for yourself. But just in case Summit guests can’t find the time to explore the sights sounds, tastes, smells and feel of Latvia firsthand, the NATO Summit Latvia Task Force is bringing it to you. You’ll find it in a special Welcome Gift bag when you arrive. 

You’ll be able to warm your hands with traditional ethnographic mittens…listen to the musical sounds of Latvia on a CD…savor our lime blossom tea and legendary Riga Black Balsam…and experience the tangy sweetness of Latvian cranberries smothered in honey. Sure, these gift items are steeped in history and tradition, but that’s not the reason Latvians love them. They are simply, very, very good.

This week, volunteers hand-packed a mountain of 4500 gift bags to get ready for the Summit. This was the first official task of the NATO Summit volunteers, and they enjoyed every minute of it. Why? Because they got to sample the goodies as they worked.
