To media representatives coming to Latvia:
In order to receive a visa to enter the Republic of Latvia as easily as possible, the NATO Summit Latvia Task Force and the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs advise the following:
• Media representatives requiring a visa for entry into Latvia are advised to contact the Latvian Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence in a timely manner.
• Media representatives coming from countries where there is no Latvian Embassy or Consulate are advised to contact the nearest Latvian Embassy or Consulate in a neighboring country. A detailed list of Latvian diplomatic missions around the world can be found at www.am.gov.lv in the section About the ministry > Diplomatic missions.
• The visa processing fee is 20 Ls. The fee is charged in the local currency of the country in which the visa application is submitted, according to the exchange rates approved by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
• Visas are not required for NATO member countries except for ordinary passport holders and holders of service/official passports from Turkey. A complete list of countries whose citizens may enter Latvia without a visa, can be found at www.am.gov.lv in the section Consular Issues > Entry visas > Countries whose citizens may enter Latvia without a visa.
• Important!
Latvia is not a memberstate of the Schengen agreement, therefore a Schengen visa is NOT VALID for entry into Latvia.
