The Second Media Advisory of the NATO Riga Summit has been released. The main addition in the Second Media Advisory is the Tentative program of the Summit. Along with this information, the Media Advisory also contains updated information about the Accreditation center, Media center, transportation, visas and more.

8 Nov - The instruction of NATO Summit volunteers will start

From all 600 volunteers to assist NATO Riga Summit organizers, approximately 160 volunteers will work in the Media Accreditation Center and Media Center before and during NATO Riga Summit days.

2 Nov - Show the best of Latvia to the guests of the NATO Summit and the whole world

With the motto “The world can see us. Show the best!“ a photographic competition has opened on the Internet portal DELFI in which photographs of moments from life in Latvia will be presented to show the guests of the NATO Summit and the whole world, the best of Latvia as seen through the eyes of the people of Latvia.

2 Nov - Commencement of the training of the NATO Summit volunteers

The NATO Summit Latvia Task Force has become acquainted with the majority of the 600 volunteers who will help the NATO Summit organizers in the last weeks before the meeting and during it to ensure the successful staging of this significant event.

1 Nov - Latvia’s Ambassador to NATO will meet with the press

With only 27 days remaining until the Meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government in Riga, Latvia’s Ambassador to NATO Mr.Jānis Eichmanis will meet with media representatives to give a briefing on the agenda of the NATO Summit and the planned decisions to be taken in Riga.

The meeting will take place in the White Hall of the Ministry of Defense on Friday, November 3, at 10:00.

19 Oct - NATO Summit will be another success story for Latvia

“Only 40 days are left until the NATO Riga Summit” said the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Atis Slakteris, at a press conference reporting on the results of the NATO Summit Planning Team’s visit to Riga. “Undoubtedly, it will be a unique event in the history of Latvia as Latvia has never before welcomed such a large number of Heads of State, Presidents, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence, and during the Summit the whole world will pay attention to us. It is going to be another success story for Latvia”.

19 Oct - Press conference on security aspects for NATO Summit

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense and the Head of NATO Summit Latvia Task Force Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the Chief of the Security Police and the person in charge of preparations and provision of security for NATO Summit participants will give a press conference on the planned changes in movement and traffic during the days of NATO Summit.

18 Oct - Press conference on the visit of NATO Summit Planning Team in Riga

The officials from Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Latvia will meet with media representatives to inform about the results of the visit of NATO Summit Task Force Planning Team in Riga. The Head of NATO Summit Task Force Planning Team Dr.Bernd Goetze will also take part in the press conference.

The press conference will take place in the Small Hall of the Ministry of Defense on Thursday, October 19, at 11.15.

16 Oct - The final visit of the NATO Summit Planning Team to Riga

The NATO Summit Planning Team from NATO Headquarters under the leadership of Dr. Bernd Goetze will visit Riga from October 16 – 19 for the final time before the upcoming meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government in November.
