Public Diplomacy projects for NATO Riga Summit to be discussed

The Head of NATO Summit Latvia Task Force Edgars Rinkēvičs together with press and public diplomacy staff members of the Task Force will visit Brussels on 7 July to participate in consultations with NATO Public Diplomacy Division representatives regarding aspects of the organization of the meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government.

E. Rinkēvičs will meet with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Jean Fournet. Both officials will discuss topical issues of NATO Summit organization, particularly focusing on public diplomacy events for Latvia’s and international public within the framework of NATO Summit.

NATO Summit Latvia Task force has also planned to discuss such issues as the international NGO conference and Young Leaders Forum that will take place along NATO Summit, as well as media opportunities during the NATO Summit

The Meeting of 26 NATO Heads of State and Government will be held in Riga on 28 – 29 November, 2006. Consultations with NATO representatives are organized on regular basis, in order to ensure success of NATO Summit in Riga.
